PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent communication from being stopped at the time of changeovers between an energy saving mode and a normal mode, while minimizing power consumed in the energy saving mode. SOLUTION: In the normal mode, data are transmitted and received by controlling a sub-CPU 280 with a main CPU 101. In the energy saving mode, data are transmitted and received by the sub-CPU 280, and when the normal mode is transferred to the energy saving mode, the main CPU 101 directs the sub-CPU 280 to perform a transfer to the energy saving mode. On the basis of these transfer directions, the sub-CPU 280 makes transmission and reception control under its own supervision, without stopping data transfer to the main CPU 101.
