PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hands-free apparatus for determining whether or not a call arrival tone is transferred to the hands-free apparatus when a call is incoming to a cellular phone, and for notifying the arrival of the call by producing a call arrival tone inside the hands-free apparatus if the call arrival tone is not transferred. SOLUTION: Under control of a Bluetooth(R) communication control section 14, hands-free connection is performed by Bluetooth(R) communication with a cellular phone. If a call is incoming to the cellular phone, it is determined by a call arrival tone transfer determination section 15 whether or not a call arrival tone is transferred from the cellular phone via Bluetooth(R) communication and if the call arrival tone is not transferred from the cellular phone as a result of the determination, a call arrival tone stored in a nonvolatile memory is read to produce a call arrival tone by a call arrival tone producing section 16.
