PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the output phase-noise characteristics and the frequency short-term stability of a rubidium atomic oscillator, and also, to realize the formation of LSI. SOLUTION: A slave oscillator is composed by an OCXO 21. A DDS 22 inputs the output signal of the OCXO 21, generates a signal at a frequency of 1/N of an atomic resonant frequency of a rubidium atom, and outputs it. Noise of the signal is removed by an LPF 24. After that, the signal of the atomic resonant frequency of a rubidium atom is generated by multiplying the signal with a PLL 25. Modulation is applied to the signal with a low-frequency signal inputted from a low-frequency oscillator 15. An error signal in between the resonant frequency of a rubidium atom is detected by inputting the output signal of the PLL 25 to an atomic resonator 13 and is subjected to the synchronous detection by a synchronous detector 16. A control signal for controlling an output frequency of the OCXO 21 is generated by an integrating circuit 17. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
