PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing only when a target color can be appropriately reproduced by extending a reproducing range of a color without using special feature printing. SOLUTION: A polychromatic resolving device 30 includes a hue-halftone area rate storage means 31a retaining relating information of a halftone area rate of a fundamental color and a hue; a reproducibility judging means 32a for judging whether the reproduction of the target color can be reproduced by judging whether the hue of the target color exists in the interior of a polyhedron having the maximum volume formed of the hue stored in the storage means 31a; and a target color resolving means 32b for resolving the target color to the halftone area rate of the fundamental color by weight averaging the halftone area rate of the fundamental color in each approximate color, by extracting the hue of the approximate color of the target color from the storage means 31a when judged that it is reproducible. A polychromatic resolving platemaking system includes a chart forming unit 10 for forming a chart for each background, a hue measurement unit 20 and a platemaking unit 40.
