PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission wherein two hydraulic pressure chambers can be formed without lowering sealing performance. SOLUTION: The belt type continuously variable transmission comprises at least two hydraulic pressure chambers, namely, an outer diameter side hydraulic pressure chamber PCO and an inner diameter side hydraulic pressure chamber PCI for generating belt clamping force on a movable sheave 43, the hydraulic pressure chambers being independently constructed by an axially extending portion extending axially from the movable sheave 43 and a partition wall member 190 having an axially extending portion sliding thereon. Through the inner periphery of the first axially extending portion 190B on the innermost diameter side of the partition wall member, the outer periphery of the first axially extending portion 182 on the innermost diameter side of the movable sheave is fitted in a slidable manner. The partition wall member 190 has a radially extending flange portion 190C located where the first axially extending portion 182 on the innermost diameter side of the movable sheave is arranged in a slidable manner.
