PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the vibration and noise of an internal combustion engine by effectively increasing the rigidity of a case member in which a mount bracket for supporting an internal combustion engine body is installed. SOLUTION: A chain case 25 fixed to the end face of the internal combustion engine body so as to cover a timing chain 21 transmitting the drive force of a crank shaft to a camshaft 19 integrally comprises contact projections 25n and 25o in contact with the end face of the internal combustion engine body on the inner surface of the chain case at the position of the mount bracket 30 installed on the outer surface thereof. Accordingly, the vibration and noise of the internal combustion engine can be reduced by effectively increasing the rigidity of the chain case 25 near the mount bracket 30 to which the vibration of the internal combustion engine is strongly transmitted by the contact projections 25n and 25o. In particular, since a plurality of reinforcement ribs R2, R3, R5, and R6 formed on the inner surface of the chain case 25 are crossed each other at the contact projections 25n and 25o, the vibration and noise of the internal combustion engine can be more effectively reduced.
