<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for managing payment which make safety and convenience of cash card utilization compatible when safety of a terminal for payment such as an ATM is enhanced using an IC card and biometrics, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Payment restriction when authentication is performed by read information from magnetic stripes is preliminarily registered in a host computer. When a payment request is performed from an ATM corresponding to the IC card, the payment restriction is not imposed since the payment request is the information read from an IC chip. On the other hand, when the payment request is performed form an ATM which is not corresponding to the IC card, payment is accepted only within a range of the payment restriction since the payment request is the information read from the magnetic stripes. When the biometrics using the IC card is performed by the ATM, information for identifying settlement/unsettlement of the biometrics is transmitted from the ATM to the host computer and application of the payment restriction is judged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
