METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY MANUFACTURING GLASS TUBE HAVING ADJUSTED CIRCULAR SHAPE OR PROFILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for continuously manufacturing a glass tube having an adjusted circular shape or a profile with a specified internal shape. SOLUTION: In this method, a molten glass 6 is flown out from an outlet opening 12 of a melt feeding 2. The molten glass is drawn out over a shaping body 3 which forms a hollow drawn-out spherical part 50. The drawn-out spherical part 50 is drawn out over a profile-shaping body 4 which is located at a downstream side of the shaping body 3 so as to deform the internal face of the drawn-out spherical part 50 while the drawn-out spherical part 50 is brought into contact with the outer face of the profile shaping body 4 which forms a specified internal shape. The distance between the shaping body 3 and the profile shaping body 4 is variable so as to vary the wall thickness of the glass tube. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
