PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool which reduces noises generated by its gear, relaxes an excessive load in case of application of such a load to the gear, carries out low-noise operation, and has a long service life, and to provide a gear device. SOLUTION: When a coupling 12, which is an intermediate member, is press-fitted to a first shaft 11A of a spindle 11 so as to be slidable when a predetermined axial torque is applied thereto, and encased in an inner enclosing section 10a of the gear 10, projections 12C formed on the coupling 12 are each arranged in a gap between a protrusion 10A-1 and a protrusion 10A-2 of the gear 10. Then elastic bodies 14 are each arranged in a gap between a wall surface 12B of a wall surface portion 12A arranged on the coupling 12 and a side surface 10B in the inner enclosing section 10a.
