PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording device with which head wear force is adjusted and head adhesion is prevented by controlling humidity inside the device. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording device is provided with a magnetic recording and reproducing part 12 which performs magnetic recording or magnetic reproduction in a magnetic tape T, a humidity measurement part 12 which measures humidity inside the device and an air suction part 15 which incorporates the air from the outside to the inside of the device, an air port 15a which supplies the incorporated air inside the device is provided to the air suction part 15, the air port 15a is divided by a humidification filter 16a, a dehumidification filter 16b and a ventilation part 16c which passes the air at a state that the humidity is maintained and an air capacity adjustment part 17 which adjusts flow rate of the air passing any of the humidification filter 16a, the dehumidification filter 16b and the ventilation part 16c based on the humidity measured by the humidity measurement part 14 is provided.
