PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front panel device for an electrical instrument with reduced number of parts and simplified assembly work. SOLUTION: In the front panel device of the electrical instrument having a volume knob 3 partially exposed to outside from an operation opening 2 arranged in a front panel 1a of casing 1 of a disc drive and a light emitting diode LED for emitting the light based on an activating signal for the disc drive, the volume knob 3 is molded by translucent synthetic resin, the light emitting diode LED is arranged behind the volume knob 3, and the light is made incident in the volume knob 3 from the light emitting diode LED.
