PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a radial gap at a joint part even when a drive gear is eccentric or inclined against an output shaft, and reduce play in an axial line direction of a drive gear without being influenced by a gap of a rolling bearing and the like supporting the drive gear. SOLUTION: A joint 2 for interconnecting a worm 3 with an output shaft 11 of an electric motor for assisting steering has flexibility, and interconnecting transmission holes (21a) 21b are provided at a radial direction outer part against a rotary center shaft, and flexible projection parts 23, 23 are provided on both sides in an axial direction of the rotary center shaft. One of the flexible projection part 23 is brought into contact with the output shaft 11, and the other flexible projection part 23 is brought into contact with an end face of a shaft part 32 of the worm 3, so as to make each of the flexible projection parts 23, 23 flexible, and apply an elastic recovering force of the respective flexible projection parts 23, 23 to the worm 3.
