PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type treating apparatus which does not put burdens on the knees of a user at the time of clamping leg parts below the knees of the user and turning an ottoman downwards in the state. SOLUTION: The chair type treating apparatus comprises an ottoman 4 freely turnably provided on the front end edge part of a seat part 2 and provided with a leg mounting part, an air bag for legs for clamping the leg parts mounted on the leg mounting part from the side face, an actuator 11 for turning the ottoman 4 upwards, and a support member 7 for supporting the ottoman 4 at a desired angle. The leg parts are clamped by the air bag for the legs in the state of supporting it at the desired angle, the supporting state is canceled in the state of clamping them, the ottoman 4 is turned downwards by gravity, and stretching to the leg parts is performed.
