<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full hydraulic type power steering device having excellent operability capable of demonstrating the load reaction function while using a single rod type steering cylinder which is available at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: Both oil chambers 2, 3 of a single rod type steering cylinder 1 are communicated with and connected to a control unit 6, respectively, a drain oil passage d which is communicated with the oil chamber 2 on the bottom side of the steering cylinder 1 is provided, a control valve 9 is interposed in the drain oil passage d and interlocked so that the control valve 9 is opened/closed in an interlocking manner with the steering operation, and the control valve 9 is operated so that the drain oil passage d is closed in the steering operating state.
