<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system for a smart key capable of setting a detection area that can widely cover a vehicle interior without the need for provision of a plurality of antennas. <P>SOLUTION: A smart ignition unit 10 includes: a control unit 1; a transmitter 2; a transmission antenna 3; a receiver 4; a reception antenna 5; a shield 6; the detection area 6a; and a motor 7. In order to confirm whether or not a mobile unit exists in the vehicle interior, the control unit 1 allows the transmitter 2 and the transmission antenna 3 to transmit a transmission signal including a request signal and allows the motor 7 to rotate/drive the shield 6. Then in order to detect the mobile unit until the legitimate mobile unit is detected in the vehicle interior or the request signal is transmitted over the whole range, the control unit 1 allows the transmitter 2 and the transmission antenna 3 to transmit the transmission signal including the request signal and allows the motor 7 to rotate/drive the shield 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
