ELECTRON-TRANPORTING AGENT, DNA, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FERREDOXIN DERIVED FROM APICOPLAST OF PROTOZOA OF APICOMPLEXAN, FERREDOXIN CRYSTAL AND METHOD FOR MEASURING FERREDOXIN ACTIVITY INHIBITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron-transporting agent capable of being used suitably for the screening of a medicine used for diseases caused by protozoa belonging to Apicomplexan and the evaluation of its activity, a method for measuring the inhibition of the electron transporting activity of the ferredoxin derived from the protozoa.

SOLUTION: This electron-transporting agent as any of proteins of the following (a) and (b) is characterized by consisting of the protein substantially derived from the apicoplast of the Apicomplexan protozoa. (a) The protein consisting of a specific amino acid sequence. (b) The protein consists of an amino acid sequence obtained by deleting, substituting or adding one or in a plurality of amino acids to the above amino acid sequence, and has an electron-transporting activity.
