<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate original plate by which an on-board development is possible after an image recording by an infrared laser, and in addition, many sheets of a favorable printed matter can be obtained by a practical energy amount, and to provide a lithographic printing method using the lithographic printing plate original plate. <P>SOLUTION: This lithographic printing plate original plate has an image recording layer which contains (A) an infrared ray absorbing agent, (B) a polymerization initiator, (C) a polymeric monomer and (D) a hydrophobic binder polymer and can record along an image by the radiation of an infrared laser, and a protective layer containing a water-soluble resin on the top of the image recording layer, on a supporting body. After being exposed imagewise by irradiation with an infrared ray, an oily ink and a water-soluble component are fed, and thus a non-exposed section is eliminated, and printing is performed. The thickness of the protective layer is from 0.1 g/m<SP>2</SP>to 1.0 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and the peeling force of the protective layer form the image recording layer is from 10 g/cm to 34 g/cm for the lithographic printing plate original plate.
