VACUUM SEAL FACE MACHINING OF ALUMINUM ALLOY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method for a contact face of an O-ring seal for sealing an aluminum alloy vacuum vessel at a low cost and high sealing ability. SOLUTION: The contact face 2a of the O-ring seal is swept over with a nonwoven fabric cleaner with abrasive grain (trade mark: Scotchbrite) with predetermined pressing load in a circumferential direction of the O-ring seal to form streaks. Therefore, trivial flaws radially crossing an O-ring seal part harmful to the sealing are cut to enhance sealing performance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
