摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gear shift control device for automatically grasping a condition of a road surface to perform the optimum automatic gear shift control by using an existing system now arranged without driver's intention during driving, and to improve the stability in driving a vehicle. SOLUTION: This device is constituted to determine wether a slipping state exists or not on the basis of the information from wheel speed sensors mounted on each of the wheels of the vehicle during driving to determine a road surface condition on the basis of the information, and when it is determined that the road surface condition is lowμ, the information is communicated to CAN and the like or a road surface state determination signal is transmitted to an automatic gear shift control device, to perform the optimum gear shift control on the basis of the obtained information or signal. Thus the optimum automatic gear shift control can be performed by automatically determining the road surface condition which has been judged by the driver in a conventional device, by utilizing a conventional anti-skid system. Further the cost can be reduced as new connection is unnecessary only by utilizing the CAN in wire connection of the anti-skid system and the automatic gear shift control device, and further a mode switch is unnecessary.
