PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high dynamic-range and high S/N moving images. SOLUTION: Images A, B, C, ..., of high-sensitivity pixel frames and images a, b, c, ..., of low-sensitivity pixel frames are alternately read out from a CCD in synchronization with a vertical synchronizing signal VD (figures (A), (B)). The images A, B, C, ..., of the high-sensitivity pixel frames and the images a, b, c, ..., of the low-sensitivity pixel frames are temporarily stored in an SRAM (a figure (C)). The image of a high-sensitivity pixel frame and that of a low-sensitivity pixel frame stored in the SRAM, A and a, B and b, ..., are composited, respectively.
