PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the camera-integrated VTR device of an HDTV system in which a circuit scale can be minimized while realizing the input/output of an SDTV system. SOLUTION: When the video signal of the SDTV system is recorded, the recording is executed after conducting the conversion from the SDTV system to the HDTV system by a system converting circuit 208. At that time, the video signal of the SDTV system inputted to an input circuit 206 is selected by a selecting circuit 213 and supplied to the viewfinder 217 of the SDTV system. When the video signal of the HDTV system is recorded, the recording is executed without using the system converting circuit 208. At that time, the video signal converted from the HDTV system to the SDTV system by a system converting circuit 212 is supplied to the viewfinder 217 of the SDTV system. When the reproduction is executed by the SDTV system, the reproduction is executed after conducting the conversion from the HDTV system to the SDTV system by the system converting circuit 212.
