MULTI-BEAM SCANNING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-beam scanning device and an image forming device equipped with it which can form the images of a high quality and resolution by reducing granular images in the low gradation areas and crushed images in the high-gradation areas. SOLUTION: This multi-beam scanning device has a 1st laser light source with its output set to the basic output and a 2nd laser light source with its output set lower than the basic output. The low-output beam light from the 2nd laser light source is overlapped with the basic output beam light from the 1st laser light source for scanning. The granular and rough feeling of the images in the low-gradation areas can be suppressed by filling the gaps between the normal size dots formed by the beam light from the 1st laser light source by using the small dots formed by the beam light from the 2nd laser light source.
