A superconducting magnet in which the current leads can be connected efficiently and accurately. In the inventive superconducting magnet, connecting/disconnecting operation of a first current lead (21) and a second current lead (22) constituting the connecting/disconnecting current leads for exciting power supply is carried out automatically through a driving mechanism (30) employing piezoelectric ceramic. Since expert skills are not required, for an operation incident to the connecting/disconnecting operation and mainte- nance, handling is facilitated and even a large number of superconducting magnets can be handled efficiently because manpower is not required when they are deenergized in succession. Furthermore, since piezoelectric ceramic is insusceptible to magnetic field, the driving mechanism can be operated accurately and a required contact pressure can be ensured accurately at the contact part between a lead contact part (21a) and a connecting/disconnecting part (22a) every time when the current leads are connected/disconnected.
