PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional input device the quality of which is not hampered over a long period of time by regulating a tilting direction, even if an undesired operation is performed. SOLUTION: This multidirectional input device is equipped with a housing 1 comprising a synthetic resin material and having an opening part 1c, an operation shaft 18 comprising a metal material and projecting from the opening part 1c of the housing 1, which can be tilted in a prescribed direction, and a detecting means 2, 9, 16, 17, to detect the tilting action of the operation shaft 18. A guide plate 4 comprising a metal material and having a plate-shaped part 4a to cover a part of the opening part 1c and a window hole part 4b to make the operation shaft 18 project is provided on the opening part 1c of the housing 1, and a plurality of recessed groove parts 4c extending in the tilting direction of the operation shaft 18 are provided in the window hole part 4b.
