PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp capable of surely and compulsorily stopping an abnormal discharge at end of life of a lamp or the like, and easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: The lamp is provided with a bulb 2 with discharge medium sealed in, a phosphor layer formed on an inner face of the bulb, a pair of filament electrodes 6, 6 sealed so as to generate discharge inside the bulb, a pair of inner lead wires 5, 5 supporting the filament electrodes, a flare stem 3 sealing and supporting the pair of electric lead wires, and a glass bead 9 arranged at least at one of the pair of inner lead wires with a softening point lower than that of the glass stem.
