PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce positioning errors by reducing vibrations of spindle thrust, conical and translating modes due to disturbance. SOLUTION: (1) In the base, the cover or a printed wiring board (PCB) of the magnetic disk device, an acceleration or angular acceleration sensor is arranged to effectively detect disturbances, and a compensation circuit is disposed to obtaining or calculating mechanism transmission characteristics or other parameters in the thrust mode, the conical mode or the translating mode of a spindle, thereby canceling the unnecessary vibration of each mode. (2) A piezoelectric element is disposed as one vibration means to measure the transmission characteristics or other parameters of the thrust mode of the spindle after the magnetic disk device is installed in a case. The disturbance of each of the thrust, conical or translating modes of the spindle is measured by a predetermined sensor, the transmission characteristics of the mechanism system of each mode of the magnetic disk device are calculated, and the positioning accuracy deterioration of the magnetic head in each mode is compensated.
