FOIL TYPE DYNAMICAL PRESSURE JOURNAL BEARING AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil type dynamical pressure journal bearing capable of easily determining a minute bearing clearance and being easily manufactured. SOLUTION: As a multilobe bearing of simple structure is formed by mounting a foil 4 of the closed loop shape by joining both end parts of two thin plates to a journal shaft 2 through a bearing clearance 5 and filling a void inside of the foil 4 and a bearing holding member with a viscoelastic member 6, the bearing clearance 5 between the journal shaft 2 and the foil 4 is formed into the shape capable of easily generating fluid pressure. A structure is simplified to be easily assembled, and is preferred in a case when the journal shaft 2 of small diameter is supported. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
