PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive elevating / lowering storage cabinet in a simple structure with excellent operability by arranging an elevating / lowering balance mechanism in the ceiling space of an upper case, and to provide the inexpensive elevating / lowering storage cabinet in the simple structure with the excellent operability by arranging the elevating / lowering balance mechanism and a balance force adjusting mechanism in the ceiling space of the upper case. SOLUTION: Inside the ceiling space S of the upper case 2 formed between the upper case 2 of the elevating / lowering storage cabinet 1 and an elevating / lowering storage body 3 at a first position (elevated position), the elevating / lowering balance mechanism 30 for generating a balance force moment for reducing operation force at the time of elevating / lowering the elevating / lowering storage body 3 is arranged. The balance force moment is mainly generated by a turning arm 31 turned around a turning shaft 31a at a base end part along the inner surface of the ceiling wall 2c of the upper case 2 by two helical tension springs 311 and 312 which generate balance force for energizing the elevating / lowering storage body 3 to the side of the first position.
