PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an antibiotic YL-02729S substance, by which analogous substances contained in the culture solution of an antibiotic YL-02729S substance-producing bacterium are removed to establish the method for industrially producing the purified YL-02729S substance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the purified antibiotic YL-02729S substance comprises a process for adding a strong base to the culture solution of a microorganism having an ability to produce the antibiotic YL-02729S substance or its treated solution to adjust into pH 12 to 13, and a process for separating the antibiotic YL-02729S substance dissolved in the basic environment from analogous substances. The method for producing the purified antibiotic YL-02729S substance according to the claim 1, comprising preferably adding a strong base to the culture solution of a microorganism having an ability to produce the antibiotic YL-02729S substance or its treated solution to adjust into pH 12 to 13, a process for adding a strong acid to adjust into pH 1 to 3, a process for adding a strong base to again adjust into pH 12 to 13, and a process for separating the antibiotic YL-02729S substance dissolved in the basic environment from analogous substances.
