The automaton is opened and closed by utilization of an engine (6) and a gear mechanism. A pluggable programming unit (1), is removed for programming and which controls irrigation times. Two cam controlled limit switches cut off the current supply of the engine, if an electronic controlled valve is opened or closed. Signals of the programming unit are fed to an amplifier for right and left hand motion of the engine.
