<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus provided with a page consecutive photo function for separately forming an image of each page of a spread original that discriminates page sequence, and forms an image or stores image data in accordance with the page sequence. <P>SOLUTION: When the image forming apparatus receives original image data and instruction for separately forming images of left/right or upper/lower pages of the spread original, a layout analysis means 203 analyzes the layout of the original image. Then a rapid shooting sequence determining means 206 determines the sequence of the left/right or upper/lower pages, on the basis of a result of the layout analysis.
