<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where developer on a belt body moving in a state where its surface is opposed to an image carrier on which a developer image is formed is effectively removed without adding a new member by preventing the faulty removal of fogged toner transferred to the outside of the voltage addition range of the belt body. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, relation Lpri>Ltr≥Ldev holds among the effective transfer length Ltr of a transfer means 10 in a direction crossing with a belt body moving direction, the effective electrification width Lpri of a charging means 2 in a direction crossing with an image carrier rotating direction, and the width Ldev in the direction crossing with the image carrier rotating direction of a developing means aperture part 81 in a developing means 8, or relation Lpri>Lcln≥Ldev holds among Lpri and Ldev in dimension in the direction crossing with the image carrier rotating direction when exposing the image carrier by an exposure means at the time of belt cleaning operation and exposure feasible width Lcln at the time of belt cleaning operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
