MODIFIED POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE POWDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TETRAFLUOROETHYLENE POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polytetrafluoroethylene powder having compatibly together moldability and electric characteristics in a micromave zone.

SOLUTION: The modified polytetrafluoroethylene powder satisfies requisites as follows: (1) the powder has a dielectric dissipation factor of≤2.0×10-4at 12 GHz; and (2) the powder requires a cylinder extrusion pressure of≤45 MPa at a reduction ratio of 1600. A modified polytetrafluoroethylene (3) comprises a polytetrafluoroethylene copolymer obtained by polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene with an olefinic monomer copolymerizable with the tetrafluoroethylene. The olefinic monomer comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a fluoroolefin, a fluoro(alkylvinyl ether), and a vinyl heterocyclic compound.
