PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting coil capable of reducing AC loss in the AC-carrying superconducting coil as a whole for operating efficiency improvement. SOLUTION: In this superconducting coil 11 having superconductors 10 wound into cylindrical layers in the directions of the frame axis and radius on the external circumference of a cylindrical coil frame 4, coils are formed of at least two kinds of superconductors different in AC loss per unit volume, respectively, and arranged in the axial direction. Coils (B<SB>1</SB>and B<SB>2</SB>) formed of superconductors relatively low in AC loss are arranged at both ends of the axial direction, and a coil (A) formed of a superconductor relatively high in AC loss is arranged at the middle of the axial direction.
