PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic fiber mat having excellent restoring properties, shaping properties and strengths with extremely slight release of volatile organic compounds without causing problems of corrosion of metals of an apparatus for production due to a pH of a binder. SOLUTION: This inorganic fiber mat is obtained by applying the binder consisting essentially of an acrylic resin emulsion at pH 4-8, curing the binder and forming the inorganic fiber mat. The diffusion rate of formaldehyde of the formed inorganic fiber mat can be regulated to≤5μg/m<SP>2</SP>h in a testing method based on JIS-A1901 by using the acrylic resin emulsion having 10-60°C glass transition temperature in the form of a film as a principal component of the binder.
