摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stop control method for an AC excitation type synchronous machine which can suppress wasteful generation or consumption of power and improve system stability by quickly controlling the stoppage thereby reducing unnecessary power generation and pumping operation. SOLUTION: This stop control method for an AC excitation type synchronous machine is equipped with a step of exciting first and second AC excitation type synchronous machines 1 and 11 by a thyristor starter 22 and regenerating the rotational energy of the first and second AC excitation type synchronous machines 1 and 11 in a power system by first and second power converters 8 and 17, a step of stopping the first and second power converters 8 and 17 in case that either rotational speed of the first and second AC excitation type synchronous machines 1 and 11 is under a regeneratable speed, a step of stopping the thyristor starter 22, and a step of stopping the first and second AC excitation type synchronous machines 1 and 11.
