PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously record a plurality of programs, and at the same time, freely select and reproduce a program out of the plurality of these programs. SOLUTION: A video image recording and reproducing device is provided with a program recording part which records the plurality of the programs received at the same time in a recording medium; a program reproduction part which reproduces and outputs at least one of the plurality of the programs recorded in the recording medium; a reproduction intercept position storing part which stores a position where the reproduction is intercepted in a program which becomes out of selection in a case that the program selection is changed; and a reproduction start position determining means which reads out the reproduction interception point of the selected program to be resumed from the reproduction intercept position storing part, and determines as a reproduction start position of the program in a case that the program selection is changed; and is composed to select a program to be reproduced, and to reproduce the selected program from the reproduction start position.
