PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nondestructive defect detection device for a thin sheet capable of detecting a defect generated on the thin sheet in a short time, and detecting even a fine defect generated on the thin sheet. SOLUTION: A part of the fringe of the thin sheet W is chucked by a fixing part 1c of a holding means 1, to thereby hold the thin sheet W in the approximately vertical state, and excitation portions A-D determined beforehand of the held thin sheet W are excited in a time division system by hammers 2a-2d of an excitation unit 2. Vibration sounds generated when exciting the thin sheet W by each hammer 2a-2d are collected by capacitor microphones 3a-3d provided corresponding to the excitation portions A-D on the thin sheet W, and frequency analysis of the collected vibration sounds is performed, to thereby operate existence of a defect on the excitation portions A-D on the thin sheet W.
