PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored gold alloy having a blackish color tone, free from color fading and having excellent mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The colored gold alloy has a composition comprising substantially 0.2 to 10.0 wt.% carbon and gold as the balance. In a preferable embodiment, carbon is allowed to enter into solid solution in gold in the gold alloy. This gold alloy can be obtained by subjecting a powder mixture of the above carbon and gold to mechanical alloying treatment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
