PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fluctuation of light emitted by the light source of an electronic endoscope and to stabilize it. SOLUTION: Inside a lamp support frame 50, a xenon lamp 31 is arranged such that a negative pole side ferrule 31C where the light is emitted is directed to a converging blade 33. At the time of viewing the xenon lamp 31 from the side of the negative pole side ferrule 31C, when one end of a support member supporting the cathode of the xenon lamp 31 is wound around the cathode counterclockwise, an air cooling fan 34 is attached to an opening part 50B continued to an opening part 50A in the lamp support frame 50.
