<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform long-time stable stream reproduction of encoded video data without generating underflow and overflow of a data receiving side buffer and without reducing the number of data to be distributed by a distributor. <P>SOLUTION: A TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) based transmitting mode is provided other than a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) based ordinary transmitting mode and while a TCP is utilized, transmission is performed from a distributor 2 at an over rate more than an actual video reproducing rate. A reproducing apparatus 1 comprises a video data storage buffer 8 from several seconds to several minutes and a remaining received data detection means 10 and based on upper and lower limit values of remaining received data, an RTSP method is issued on the background regardless of a state change (reproducing state, suspend state, stop state) of the reproducing apparatus 1 using an RTSP that is a standard streaming transmission control protocol. Flow control mainly led by the reproducing apparatus 1 is actively performed at all the time, the remaining received data amount is kept within the designated range, and streams are reproduced stably for a long time while preventing sound break and video break. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
