<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-data transferring system, in which an image compression file for a plurality of resolutions need not be recorded in a server, the compression file of the whole image file need not be transmitted from the server to a client when a part of the image file is utilized and communications at a plurality of times are not required when a processing on the server side is made simpler than conventional devices and data are required extensively over a plurality of tile data, and to provide its transferring method. <P>SOLUTION: The server 1 cuts out data required for a high-resolution expansion for tiles in a tile number 2 corresponding to a rectangular region specified by the client 2 and the tile number 6 from the image compression file 11 specified by the client 2.
