<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converging sheet capable of converging light diffused and made incident from a light source within a target emitting angle range, and a surface light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The converging sheet 12 where a plurality of unit shapes 121 whose cross sectional shape is almost trapezoidal are arrayed in a sheet surface direction and arranged on a cathode ray tube 13 side is provided between an LCD panel 11 and the cathode ray tube 13, and enhances the utilization efficiency of the light as back light by converging diffused illuminating light from the cathode ray tube 13.
