<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rub a sheet with an alignment film, which is in such a structure that the alignment film is laminated on the top surface of a continuous base material, either at a large tilt angle to its length or vertically. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet 1 with the alignment film is made to continuously travel along its length and while a rubbing roll 22 having an external diameter larger than the width of the sheet 1 with the alignment film is rotated, its circumferential surface is brought into contact with the sheet 1 with the alignment film to its overall width and rubbed so that the moving direction B of the circumferential surface by the rotation of the rubbing roll 22 may cross the length of the sheet 1 with the alignment film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
