摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device for allowing an input with a human original handwriting feeling of a character even with small information equipment incapable of having a wide area for character input. <P>SOLUTION: This character input device has: a three-component force sensor for detecting respective finger pressures in X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis directions; a character storage part for storing respective finger pressure change patterns in the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis directions to time progress in each inputtable character; and a character recognition part for comparing the respective finger pressure change patterns in the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis directions acquired by the three-component force sensor and the respective finger pressure change patterns in the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis directions stored in the character storage part, and selecting the character having a smallest difference. The three-component force sensor is strain sensors disposed around a plate fixed with a stick of a track point, detects the X-axis and Y-axis directions by difference of the finger pressures in two strain sensors symmetric through a shaft, and detects the Z-axis direction by the sum of the finger pressures. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
