PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booster circuit capable of performing suitable step-up operation such that the breakdown voltage of circuit elements is not exceeded. SOLUTION: The booster circuit 2 for supplying a load with a step-up voltage by stepping up a reference voltage comprises capacitors C1 and C2 being charged with the reference voltage by turning a transistor TR1 on/off. A Zener diode ZD2 is connected with the output terminal when the load is supplied with a step-up voltage by the charging voltage of the capacitors C1 and C2, and conducted when the step-up voltage being supplied to the load reaches a predetermined level. Consequently, charging power of the capacitors C1 and C2 is discharged and the step-up voltage is prevented from increasing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
