DETECTING SURFACE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, SENSOR CHIP, AND DNA CHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection target surface which has a region having both high-level hydrophobic and insulating properties and a hydrophilic region, and to provide its manufacturing method, a sensor chip, and a DNA chip. SOLUTION: The detection target surface of the DNA chip etc. for detecting the interaction between substances is provided in a substrate 1 with both the hydrophilic region capable of fixing a substance 3 for detection and the hydrophobic and insulating region 4 of which the surface is treated with a carbon-containing silicon oxide (SiOC). The sensor chip and the DNA chip each provided with the detection target surface are provided. The manufacturing method of the detecting surface includes (1) a first process for coating the surface of the substrate with a carbon-containing silicon oxide (SiOC); (2) a second process for masking only a prescribed region in the substrate; and (3) a third process for performing surface treatment so as to fix the substance for detection.
