PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce inertia moment from an internal combustion engine to the upstream side of a lock-up clutch and increase rotation speed of an input shaft by high response when starting and accelerating by releasing the lock-up clutch. SOLUTION: In this torque converter for the automobile in which output shaft torque of the internal combustion engine is converted and is inputted into a transmission, a turbine is fixed to a torque converter cover forming a hydraulic fluid chamber to connect with the input shaft of the transmission directly, and an impeller arranged by opposing to the turbine is directly connected with an output shaft of the internal combustion engine.
