PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding positioner that enables operators and machinery to cooperatively perform stable and high quality welding by solving a problem of tendency of causing defects in weld seams, problem of interpass temperature, problem of welding posture, and problem of variance of quality in finished products. SOLUTION: Viewing a welding pool on a monitor screen rather than directly can greatly reduce the burden of an operator. For the purpose of reducing operation time in setting and centering of a column, by measuring the column temporarily set on a turntable, automatic correction is possible on the positioner end. In addition, in the welding operation of the first layer that tends to have defects, a proper instruction can be given to the positioner while the monitor screen (including a temperature sensor or the like) is watched; thus, occurrence of defects can be prevented through cooperation between the operators and the machinery.
