<p>Motor lock is detected by utilizing the fact that the motor drive current increases and a capacitor generating a voltage signal at the time of motor lock is charged with an arbitrarily adjustable charging current. A circuit for discharging the capacitor, a hysteresis type comparison circuit for comparing the charging voltage with a threshold level, and the like, are fabricated in an IC. On the other hand, the charging current is regulated in accordance with a motor to which the motor drive is applied. Consequently, the IC can be employed commonly in a plurality of types of motor having different characteristics and the motor start trial period can be adjusted individually for the plurality of types of motor having different characteristics.</p> |
